about
first or second full band thing i have recorded..... i wrote this song in 2012 i think and played it out a few times . my buddy Joe Heavey offered to throw some drums on it and i didnt make his job easy sending files with my wonky timing....
i really love what Casey Leanza did for the artwork. She tattoos currently at Tigers Blood Social Club in Alameda. im really drawn to her paintings and im honored to have her draw this up. Thank You Casey and Joe
lyrics
Drive
Take the tarp off the car it keeps the pitch off
and the dirt and the leaves and the critters out
were gonna drive
Never got the window fixed
the one that you smashed with a brick
But in the spirit of.. letting dead dogs lie were gonna drive
Never knew it felt so good
to see the shadows race across the hood
on this sunrise ride
Couldn't be better off
said she that chains her faith to a cross
never makes it better
Your armor is paper thin i
if your hearts so open let me in
and drive
Drive me back to the place where we met
We were frozen in time with no hint of regret but in time
well our hearts they thawed out
and those bad little numbers got to high to count... yes they did
Now were on the other side
my heart is broke but oh what a ride
around we go
don't believe in circumstance
yer sidewise smile and you wont dance
you cant be trusted
put the tarp on the car
etc etc etc
